On April 7th, the group then engaged the public in an evening
of “kaleidoscope conversation.” A kaleidoscope conversation is a conversation composed entirely of questions, and is used by community organizers as a “tool in collective understanding and moving forward.” at night in the gallery, nearly 200 questions were asked about the exhibition, Black representation in museums, and other timely issues, that stemmed from one set of core questions:

Is it ours?
How do we own the construction of Black identity?
Can an exhibition do that work?
